Former cricketist Shoaib Akhtar stated on Monday that the British and Wales Cricket Boards (ECB) cancel the tour to Pakistan was a ‘write-on-the-wall.’
“They are all colleagues. They are all colleagues. “The rapid bowler told the media that, immediately after the ECB revealed its decision of a team not visiting Pakistan, it was expected that if New Zealand decides to call the tour.
“The conclusion was predetermined since it was consulted by England, Australia and New Zealand. They intended and they did it successfully, to establish a narrative against Pakistan,” Akhtar remarked.
Akhtar stated, “they should hesitate to cancel” the tour first and examine the situation and see how things are in Pakistan.
Akhtar stated when they “would like to evacuate their troops,” they cannot find a better nation than Pakistan to seek support. “PIA becomes the best plane when they cannot locate a flight.”
Akhtar said the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is now running like a company. He further said that since that board had no money, it would not be taken seriously by any other board.
If the series was 50 million dollars,
In Afghanistan, Akhtar observed, England would have played Pakistan and pushed the board to its feet.
“Today Pakistan needed most of this trip, but Pakistan was successful,” he added emphasising the necessity for PCB to urge the ICC. “This tour was a successful one.
A few days after NZC unilaterally cancelled the tournament a few minutes before the toss on security grounds, the ECB cancelled the tour to Pakistan.
The ECB maintains that our players and staff are first and foremost in their well being and safety, particularly in view of “the period in which we live now.”The men and women of England have two Twenty20s to compete on the 13th and 14th of October at Rawalpindi. On October 17, 19 and 21, the women’s squad was also scheduled to perform three ODIs in Pakistan.
